Moving to a new home is a long and tiring process, and there’s nothing more stressful than the packing process! If you don’t put in the time and effort needed to properly pack your belongings then you could end up having to deal with expensive breakages, which is the last thing you need on moving day! Packing doesn’t have to be a long and horrible chore though – with these simple tips you can pack your home efficiently and properly, making the unpacking process much easier as well!1)    Getting the right materials. You can’t pack your home up unless you have the right materials for the job. You can easily source second-hand boxes from your local shops, just make sure that they’ve been properly reinforced with packing tape, and check for signs of extreme wear and tear that could make then unsafe. You’re also going to need marker pens and sticky labels to label your boxes, as well as padding materials such as foam packing peanuts, bubble wrap and foam sheets to keep your belongings safe. 2)    Making a packing plan.If you have a packing plan then it’s easy to stick to your schedule and get everything packed up and ready in time for moving day. Make a list of the rooms in your home and estimate how long it will take to pack up each one. This will give you an idea of how long packing will take you. Your packing plan should also take into account the parts of your home that might not be ready for packing until the night before your move, as well as the rarely-used rooms of your home that can be packed up immediately.3)    Labelling your boxes. If you label your boxes properly then you can make unpacking much, much easier for yourself! Don’t just label your boxes with the name of the room they’ve come from, but try numbering them in order of importance as well. Numbering your boxes means you’ll know exactly where to start when you get to your new home, and it will be much easier to find items of importance when you need them as well!4)    Cheap and easy packing! If you’re trying to keep your costs to a minimum then you can use items from around your home as packing materials. Bedding, sheets and towels can be used to wrap and protect your fragile items, while suitcases and plastic storage boxes and drawers are an excellent way to move your belongings easily and without hassle. Try searching in your attic, loft or garage for any of the original boxes and packing materials from your television, kitchen appliances and more, as these have been designed specifically for that item and will make moving much easier!5)    Hiring a professional packing or removals company. Many of the removal companies in your area will offer packing services that could help you if you’re worried about packing up your home. Professional packing services can save you time and effort, so if you have a busy schedule or if you have enough on your plate already, experienced packing help might be just what you need! Always research any removal company before hiring them to ensure that they’re a reliable and professional service, and don’t forget to shop around to find the best deals for your move.
